The Starmus Jane Goodall Earth medal will honor to pay tribute to the renowned British primatologist who passed away recently. It seeks to acknowledge individuals and groups that protect our planet's biodiversity.

The Medal's Framework

Initial honorees are slated for announcement at the upcoming Starmus event in Tenerife and La Palma, scheduled from 17–22 October next year.

According to statements that Goodall, a former member of the festival's board, had endorsed the award’s creation. “The concept of having this award, and the festival being tasked to oversee it, is Jane’s,” a representative said. “Her desire was that she wanted this to happen.
